“Oakland Catholic High School is a Catholic college preparatory school for young women. Located in the educational heart of Pittsburgh, we serve an ethnically, socio-economically, and geographically diverse student population. Girls of single gender schools are empowered. They find their voices sooner and emerge prepared to thrive at the higher Education of their choice. This provides a critical extra measure of preparation for them to head into the world ready to embark upon the challenges of a technological and global society. There is no difference in what young men and women can learn, but there are big differences in the most effective ways to teach them. Girls in single gender schools are more likely to explore computer science, math and physics and to participate in competitive sports than girls in coed schools.
