Since 1894, the Sewickley Valley YMCA has been dedicated to building a strong community. Our founders understood the power of unity, growth, and support in bringing people together. Today, we remain committed to their vision by ensuring everyone is embraced at our Y, regardless of their financial situation. We are a trusted partner for individuals of all ages and backgrounds, offering support and guidance through personal and economic hardships. Whether it's affordable child care, or helping to remove barriers to accessing food, the Y opens its doors to all.
AFFORDABLE HIGH-QUALITY CHILD CARE
All children, regardless of background or socioeconomic status, deserve the opportunity to reach their full potential through enriching, quality learning experiences. Additionally, parents and caregivers require access to safe, affordable child care. Early Child Care and Educational Development at the Sewickley Valley YMCA offers full-day child care for children as young as six weeks through age six. The Y is the only provider in our service area that offers financial assistance for parents who earn too much to qualify for state funding but not enough to afford child care on their own. We proudly offer reduced tuition fees, ensuring all families can access affordable, high-quality child care regardless of financial circumstances. REDUCING FOOD INSECURITY
We all feel it. Groceries are expensive. For families who are struggling to make ends meet, they need help now more than ever. Many local families face food insecurity and do not have the financial means to purchase enough food to meet their basic needs. Food insecurity negatively impacts individuals' health and well-being, such as lower nutrition intake, poor health, cognitive defects, depression, and anxiety. The Y helps fill the gaps and meet the basic nutritional needs of children, families and individuals. Learn more about the Y's Food to Families program by clicking on programs.
